Three words to describe me as a therapist:
Nonjudgmental, honest, human
What drew me into therapy:
IT ALL STARTED WHEN… I REALIZED SOMETHING WAS MISSING.
As a former journalist, I made it my mission to give voice to the voiceless. But it always felt so one-sided. I couldn’t intervene. I couldn’t change anything. I couldn’t make it better. As a therapist, I have been given the ability and honor to take my love of stories one step further. I am no longer merely sharing narratives; I am co-creating new beginnings.
Goals when sitting with clients for the first time:
Connecting to a person’s story and separating problems from people
What I hope my clients believe about themselves:
They have all the strength and power they need to re-author and re-direct their own stories
Fun facts about me:
-I have self-identified “cute aggression.” which basically means I want to lovingly squeeze every fur baby I ever encounter.
-I have the self-proclaimed diet of a 7-year-old: Pizza, mac and cheese and french fries are some of my very favorite delicacies.
-I am a scary-movie maniac. My favorite horror film of all time—Nightmare on Elm Street.
